Policies & Fine Print

Welcome. Warmland Learning Resources is a small curriculum studio based in British Columbia, creating digital teaching units for homeschool families and classroom teachers. This page covers the practical things: how purchases work, what you can do with the units once you have them, refunds, and how we handle your information. We've kept it plain-language on purpose.

By purchasing a unit or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to what's below.

How purchases work

Units are digital downloads. Once you've paid, you'll receive an email with your files — usually within a few minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then email us at hello@warmlandlearning.com and we'll sort it out.

Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD). Payment is handled by trusted processors (Stripe and PayPal). We never see or store your card details.

What you can do with a unit

When you buy a Warmland unit, you're buying a license to use it — not to redistribute it. Here's the short version.

You can:

  • Print it as many times as you need for the children or students you teach.
  • Use it with all the kids in your household (homeschool families) or in your own classroom (teachers).
  • Adapt the pacing, lessons, and projects to fit the learners in front of you.
  • Keep a backup copy on your own devices.
  • Share your students' work (drawings, lesson books, finished projects) on your own social media.

Please don't:

  • Share the files with other families, teachers, or co-op members who haven't purchased their own copy.
  • Post units — or substantial pieces of them — on blogs, shared drives, Facebook groups, or resource-sharing sites.
  • Resell, rebundle, or include the materials in any paid course or membership.
  • Use the materials to train AI models.

If you're teaching in a co-op, a multi-teacher setting, or a whole school, get in touch at hello@warmlandlearning.com — we're happy to work out a multi-teacher license.

Refunds

Because units are digital and delivered instantly, we generally don't offer refunds once a file has been downloaded. That said, we'll always make it right in these cases:

  • You accidentally purchased the same unit twice.
  • The file is corrupted or won't open, and we can't fix it.
  • The unit is significantly different from what's described on the product page.

Email us at hello@warmlandlearning.com within 14 days of purchase with your order number, and we'll take care of it. We read every message personally.

To help you choose well before buying, we offer free sample lessons through our newsletter — we really do recommend starting there.

Your privacy

We only collect what we need to run the shop and send you what you've asked for:

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email (and your name, if you share it).
  • Purchases: your name, email, and billing address. Payment details go straight to Stripe or PayPal — we never see them.
  • Site analytics: basic, anonymous traffic data so we can understand what's useful.

We use this information to deliver your units, send the newsletter you signed up for, answer your questions, and improve what we make. That's it.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.

We share data only with the service providers that help us operate — payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), our email platform (Kit), and website hosting. Each is bound by its own privacy obligations.

You can unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link at the bottom of any newsletter. You can also email hello@warmlandlearning.com to see what we have on file, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll respond within 30 days.

We keep purchase records for 6–7 years (required by Canadian tax law) and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.

Warmland is based in British Columbia and follows Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC's PIPA). Some of our service providers store data in the United States or other countries, where local laws may apply.

The units and everything on warmlandlearning.com — text, illustrations, layouts, scripts — belong to Warmland Learning Resources.

Warmland units are educational resources. Grade-level suggestions are guidelines, and outcomes depend on the learner and how the materials are used. We can't guarantee specific educational results — that's the work of the caring adult at the table.

The site is provided as-is. We do our best to keep everything working smoothly, but we can't be held liable for indirect or unexpected losses arising from your use of the site or units. If something does go wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. We may update this page occasionally — when we do, we'll change the date at the top.
